Mod [mod] In regard to ICE and recent events
Hi r/teenagers
I'd like to start off by saying that we do not support ice, we find the murder of Alex Pretti to be reprehensible. That said, we are not a political subreddit, nor do we want to be. We are first and foremost just a silly little teenagers subreddit.
Because of this we have decided as a team to temporarily ban all discussion of ice, it is both extremely hard to moderate and only causes people to fight. We will be leaving the top post on the topic up as a locked post and will be removing any future posts we find under rule 2-B.ii
Thanks, if you've any questions or concerns feel free to voice them in our modmail.

Mod [mod] Recent Rule Edits + Automod Changes
Hi r/teenagers!
Within this past month we've made some amendments to our rules and added a new bot to enforce one of these rule changes. We've since gotten a lot of confusion over this in modmails and for the sake of being transparent with you guys I'd like to go over these changes here.
Our first rule addition is to rule 3:
e. You cannot use r/teenagers to look for a relationship.
This rule's existence is pretty self explanatory, this place is targeted towards a demographic that is mostly minors and we will not tolerate dating here due to how wildly unsafe it is for our average user.
Our other rule addition is to rule 4 and deserves a much bigger highlight though:
c. NSFW and shock subreddits, sites, links, pictures, videos, etc. are not allowed.
i. Activity in NSFW subreddits of sexual or gory nature also fall under this rule.
One of the biggest issues this place has had since it was created was the large amount of predators. User safety has always been one of the biggest focuses of our team and as the current reddit team leader of r/teenagers it's my primary focus too. We used to have a bot a few years ago that would enforce this rule by looking at user profiles and automatically banning people if they were active in subreddits considered to be NSFW.
It worked like a charm and helped a LOT at cutting down on predatory behavior in this place. Unfortunately due to reddit API changes it eventually stopped working completely and we had to go back to enforcing this rule manually. That was until about a month ago though we found and added a devvit app called Hive Protector.
What does this bot do?
The way this bot works is when you comment or post on our subreddit it looks through your entire account history and automatically bans you if it finds any history on your profile from a list of subreddits (I haven't counted but I'd chance a guess that there are over 100+ subreddits in there that I have personally added, I often update it with new ones) that we have specified it to look for. So far it has currently banned over four thousand people in the month's time that we have had it running for.
As it stands this bot will only search for porn subreddits. We understand that there are a lot of subreddits that happen to be marked NSFW but are nowhere near deserving of being blacklisted here.
What happens when you get flagged by this bot?
When you get flagged by this bot you are automatically permanently banned and will have to go through an appeal process in modmail. This involves deleting all activity in nsfw subreddits off of your profile and a 30 day waiting period.
This bot is mostly a preventative measure to reduce predators on our subreddit itself, one of the biggest overlaps I have seen in my time here was that people who end up getting banned from this place as pedophiles is that a majority of them use porn subreddits.
That's about it, if you've any questions or concerns about anything said here feel free to voice them :)
Thanks and have a good day or night!

Rant Farewell, teenage 😔
Ik I didn't do any contribution at all in here, but lookin at this subreddit on my homepage made me realize that tomorrow (on my b.day), I'd no longer be a teen, so I thought, "yeah lets rant about this in a subreddit, where there'd be a likely chance that most of them would yoink these pics, read this rant because they're bored, and carry on with their day, or for those who wanna know what its like even tho I'm not the first one to do this"
Which honestly I don't have much to say about it since I've been lettin life flow and take me to whatever dad lore level of crazy shit it has been taking me to. But it also had me on the ropes to think about how this'll actually hit when I turn 20 on the next day. Sure I'd still have my universal big brother title, and it wouldn't stop me from doing the same goofy stuff most adults drop when they consider that they're past that age group, but there's something about it that makes it a gulf between an entire section of an age group, and at where I stand, and will continue to walk ahead on.
Mostly for those turning 20 soon or continue to grow older, is that you don't needa be a stone cold adult as soon as you hit that mark lol. Practically, no one's stoppin you from doing anything that falls into the "average boys/men experience". And for those who stand behind the 20 mark, cherish it. Since it's the only time you're gonna have where you can run wild and learn alot for future you xd (trust me, your future self is gonna thank you a shit ton if you do cool shit and learn to make a gud base to derive other things from)
And no, I'm not gonna do a job >:[ You can call me unc when my bro gets a mini him
(Talk about a yaptown) (also mb if you felt anything off or anythin that made you roll your eyes mentally or physically 🥀)
