discussion Has a band ever lost a member and simply did not replace them?
A bit like how Bill Berry quite REM in 1997, and they never officially replaced him. However, the band did temporarily hire drummers when necessary, so it's not really the best example. Does anyone have an example of a member who is not replaced in any way?
Edit: Preferably a band that continued touring or releasing albums

discussion Is art worse now, or is the world just too scattered for it to hit the same way?
Do you ever feel like the peak of technical creativity in art, especially music, already passed? Not in terms of talent, but in how artists used to explore and express emotions, while reacting to what was happening around them.
There are still tons of geniuses today, but everything feels more fragmented and decentralized, like it’s harder for any one person or movement to really define an era.
I’m not trying to romanticize the past or dismiss the present, I just wonder if art reflects social and political tension, and if tougher times naturally push music to become more complex.
