TIL about the Putignano carnival, which makes the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade floats look like kindergartners hour.

As somethying from Spain, sorry about the bullfighting , most of us want it banned.

I was thinking a very slight correction would be make the bulls eyes white, and the bullfighters eyes red. Keeps the artwork pretty much identical but tips you off who's the actual bad guy

The italians don't like it either, it Paints the bullfighters as what they are , cowards. Never seen one fighting an bear or a tiger.

Nah I get it. Theyre making the bull look majestic and strong and the matadores look frail and scared. I just wish they swapped the eyes, because red eyes in media commonly means evil.

Username checks out, I guess

Stay safe and warm, it's a bit stormy in Spain

A lot I have some friends in the worse affected areas, looks like they live by a river, but they don't.

Thanks

Message behind the float:

"The Last Bullfight denounces the paradox of our era: we live in a society that fights to save endangered species, builds shelters, adopts, and defends animals in every way possible, as is right. Yet, at the same time, in several countries, we still witness bullfights where innocent creatures are sacrificed for pure spectacle. In The Last Bullfight, the meaning of the "game" is reversed: the bull appears as a mechanical creature, a gigantic and indestructible machine, running madly through the crowd as a symbol of rebellion, while the matadors appear as ridiculous targets to be hit, creating a 360° traveling spectacle."

This would be stunning to see in person

The main event of the last parade I was to were high schoolers throwing candy from a trailer… I should probably get out more

Based on how the bull and matadors look, I'd say this float is sympathetic towards the bull.

I suspect this float is more pro-bull. The Spaniards do the running of the bulls and bull fighting. This is in Italy.

The matadors are terrified, tf you talking about

u/itsmrwilson 10m ago

No matador has ever been scared of a bull. It's not a fair fight.

u/ModenaR 9m ago

They are terrified, look at them

Reminds me of Ozzy from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony! Now on display in Birmingham New Street station, he's literally the size of a house lol

They look Spanish. Most Spaniards and Italians are indistinguishable from each other man…

u/Llee00 1h ago

is this a low key diss on the spanish, they may be many things but matadors aren't cowards

I like how it's giving a good vision of it when the real thing is just horrible.

What?

-13

u/reinventitall 2h ago

16

u/SwiftWombat 2h ago

I don't know if you can tell, but that bull isn't real.

u/itsmrwilson 1h ago

For real. Make a cool float about puppy mills next.

All these floats seem like AI garbage

13

u/deadhead4ever 2h ago

Just searched to see myself. The floats are paper mache and are stunning.
